Orchestra 03
La Juan D'Arienzo
The standard-bearers of El Rey del Compás
Included in the 4DAY Pass: the D’Arienzo Musicality Workshop and Concert, Monday 17 May, 15:30–17:00, with the orchestra live on stage. The extra live set ends the workshop, not the festival day.
Inspired by the unmistakable rhythmic style of the legendary Juan D’Arienzo, La Juan D’Arienzo brings the pulse of classic tango to the dance floor with thrilling force. Known as “El Rey del Compás”—the King of the Beat—D’Arienzo helped make rhythm an irresistible invitation to dance. This orchestra carries that spirit forward with a powerful, energetic sound and a fresh presence of its own.
The beat is clear, driving and full of life, giving dancers a joyful foundation for every step. The bandoneons, violins, piano and double bass build a vibrant sound that can turn a milonga into a celebration. Expect music that makes you want to move, smile and share the floor.
La Juan D’Arienzo know how to make a night feel like a party. Their performances bring a sense of fun and spontaneity to the stage, with lively interaction and playful moments that draw the audience in. The energy moves between the musicians and the dancers, creating an atmosphere where listening, dancing and celebrating all become part of the same experience.
They have played in Copenhagen seven times, building a special connection with the city’s tango community. Now they return ready to fill the room with rhythm, warmth and dancing joy. When La Juan D’Arienzo takes the stage, expect a big tango party—and a dance floor that’s hard to leave.
